Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms apply when you use Blink Brief (www.blink-brief.com): its free tools, guides, early-access sign-ups, and reservations.

1. About these terms

Blink Brief is published by Fluxenic Inc. (“we”, “us”), a company in Tokyo, Japan. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. The Legal notice gives the seller details that Japanese law requires.

2. Free tools

  • The free tools cost nothing and need no account.
  • They run in your browser. We don’t receive or store the files and text you use in them (Privacy Policy, section 2).
  • What you make with a tool is yours. You need the right to use whatever you put into it.
  • We provide the tools as they are. They may contain errors, and we don’t promise that they suit your purpose. Check the result before you rely on it, for example a seating chart before you print it or an invoice summary before you file it.
  • We may change or stop a tool at any time.

3. Guides

  • Guides and comparisons are general information, not legal, tax, or other professional advice.
  • Other companies’ prices and features are as we read them on their own pages, on the date shown. They may have changed since.
  • Fluxenic makes some of the products mentioned. A page that mentions one of our products next to others marks it as ours (About).

4. Early-access sign-ups

  • Signing up is free and commits you to nothing.
  • We email you only about the product you signed up for: when it opens, and to ask how you’d use it. You can stop the emails at any time.
  • Signing up doesn’t reserve the product or promise that it will open.

5. Reservations

What you buy

A reservation is a one-time payment, made now, for a product we are still building. Its reservation page states what the product will do, what the payment covers (for example, the first month of use, or one event), the price, the delivery date. The period your payment covers starts on the day we deliver.

Who can reserve

Customers in the United States, and businesses in the EU and the UK with a valid VAT number. If you reserve for a business, you confirm that you may act for it. You must be at least 18. If a reservation doesn’t meet these conditions, we may cancel it and refund it in full.

Payment

Your card is charged in full through Stripe when you reserve, in US dollars or euros as the reservation page shows. Taxes are as the Legal notice states.

Delivery

Right after you pay, we email you a confirmation with the product, the amount and date of your payment, and the delivery date. We deliver by that date, and email you how to start using the product.

Refunds

We refund the full amount:

  • if you ask before delivery, for any reason, by email to tomoya.fujita@fluxenic.com;
  • automatically, if we haven’t delivered by the delivery date;

We send each refund to the card you paid with, within 7 days of your request or of the date above. After delivery, a reservation isn’t refunded. If the product doesn’t do what its reservation page said, tell us, and we fix it or refund you in full.

No automatic renewal

A reservation is charged once. It never renews, and we never charge your card again for it.

To keep using the product after the period your reservation covers, you place a separate order, such as a subscription, at the price and on the terms shown when you order. We email you before your period ends. If you don’t order, the product stops at the end of the period, and you pay nothing more.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site to break the law or to harm others;
  • attack or overload the site, or try to reach parts of it not meant for you;
  • sign up or reserve in someone else’s name, or sign others up without their permission;
  • copy the site’s pages in bulk or present them as your own.

7. Intellectual property

The site, its text, and its tools belong to Fluxenic Inc. You may use the tools and link to any page. These terms give you no right to use the Blink Brief name or logo.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or any liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are liable only for direct and ordinary damage, and for a reservation, up to the amount you paid for it.

9. Changes

We may change the site, the tools, and the guides at any time. We may also change these terms: we post the new terms here before they take effect, with the date they do, and email anyone whose reservation isn’t delivered yet. A change doesn’t apply to a reservation you have already paid for, unless it is in your favour.

10. Governing law and courts

Japanese law governs these terms. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction over disputes as the court of first instance.

If you are a consumer, including in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and where those laws allow it, you can bring a claim in the courts there.
