3. Download or print

Your photos stay in this tab only. Download the PDF before you close it.

Add the photos from a shoot, choose how many go across the page, and download a PDF or JPG pages with the file name under each frame. Your client can reply with the names of the frames they want.

How it works

  1. Reading your photos. Your browser opens each photo and makes a copy no larger than 1000 pixels on its long side. Only these copies stay in the tab. Your original files are not changed.
  2. Order. "File name" sorts numbers the way you count, so DSC_2 comes before DSC_10. "Order added" keeps the order you added them in.
  3. Layout. You choose how many photos go across. The rows follow from the paper, the orientation, and the space the labels need. Every photo sits in a square cell, so vertical and horizontal frames get the same long side.
  4. The files. The PDF is built on your device with the open-source jsPDF library. The file names in it are real text, so your client can search for one or copy it. JPG pages are 150 dpi images, one file per page.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't open RAW files such as CR3, NEF, or ARW. Export JPEGs from your editor first.
  • It doesn't read star ratings, captions, or other metadata. The label is the file name, the frame number, or both.
  • It doesn't save your sheet. Closing the tab clears it, so download the PDF first.
  • It doesn't zip the JPG pages. Each page downloads as its own file.

Your photos never leave your browser

Your photos are never uploaded. Your browser reads them, makes the small copies, and builds the PDF and the JPG pages on your device. Nothing is kept after you close the tab.

Using a contact sheet with a client

  1. Choose "Number and file name" as the label.
  2. Put the client's name and the shoot date in the title, so every page says whose shoot it is.
  3. Download the PDF and send it by email or in a message.
  4. Ask your client to reply with the numbers or file names of the frames they want. Then find those files in your editor and finish only those.

FAQ

Is this contact sheet maker free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up and no limit on photos or pages. There is no watermark on the PDF or the JPG pages.

How many photos can I add?

There's no set limit. Only a small copy of each photo stays in the tab, so even a 300-photo shoot of large files fits. Large photos take a moment each to read, and the counter shows how far it has got.

Can I add a whole folder?

Yes, on a computer. Click "Choose a folder" or drag the folder onto the box. RAW files and files that aren't photos, such as XMP sidecars, are listed as skipped.

What about HEIC photos from an iPhone?

They work in browsers that can open HEIC. If a HEIC photo is listed as skipped, export it as JPEG and add it again.

How do I print it?

Print gives one page per sheet. Download PDF also works on any phone. Check that your printer is set to the paper size you chose.
