How to print several photos on one page from an Android phone
By Blink Brief · Updated · How pages are made
Android's print screen prints one photo per page: it has settings for copies, paper size, color, orientation and two-sided printing, but no "photos per page". To get 2 or 4 photos on one sheet, lay them out first. The free tool below does that in Chrome, with no app and nothing uploaded, and then hands the page to the same print screen, where you pick your printer or Save as PDF. Printer apps from HP, Canon and Epson are the other route, if yours offers a layout.
Short answer
- Any printer: open this page in Chrome, choose the photos below, pick 2 or 4 per page, tap Print or save as PDF.
- 4 per page: Portrait in Chrome's print screen. 2 per page: Landscape.
- Google Photos: prints one photo per page, one photo at a time.
Why Google Photos prints one photo per page
We tested Google Photos 7.8.0 on Android 16 (Google's Android emulator, not signed in to a Google account):
- One photo: open it, tap More options (the three dots), then Print. Android's print screen opens with the photo on one page.
- Several photos: with 4 photos selected, the More options menu had only Delete. There was no Print.
- The print screen: tapping the arrow under the summary showed Copies, Paper size, Color, Orientation, Two-sided and Pages. No setting puts several photos or pages on one sheet.
The printers you can choose at the top come from print services: Settings › Connected devices › Connection preferences › Printing on our Android 16 phone, where Default Print Service was on and Add service installs one from your printer's maker. Samsung's Settings are laid out differently. Even with Save as PDF and no printer at all, the print screen works, which is how you can check a layout before you go near a printer.
Printer apps: HP, Canon, Epson
- HP: HP Smart is now called HP. Its Google Play listing names "Print Photos" but no layout of several photos on a sheet, and we couldn't open HP's forum answers on the question.
- Canon PRINT: its Google Play listing names printing and scanning, and no photo layout. We couldn't open Canon's support article.
- Epson Smart Panel: Epson's page says "Design collages, greeting cards, and personalized stationery" and "Manage custom media sizes, layout and specialty paper handling." It works only with the printers on Epson's list.
We didn't test any of the three with a printer. A collage is designed to look nice, with its own frames and spacing; for plain rows of photos the same size, use the layout below.
2 or 4 photos a page, any printer: the layout below
This puts your photos 2 across in square cells, the same layout as our Contact Sheet tool at 2 across: 4 to a tall page, or 2 to a wide one. It is free, works in Chrome on the phone, and your photos are never uploaded: each one is read and shrunk in this tab to at most 1000 pixels on its long side.
Put 2 or 4 photos on each page, then print
JPEG, PNG or WebP. Photos go in file-name order.
In the print screen, choose US Letter and Portrait.
This tool needs JavaScript. Without it, the closest route on the phone:
- Open Contact Sheet in a browser with JavaScript on, choose the photos, set Photos across the page to 2 across, and choose Portrait for 4 a page or Landscape for 2.
- Tap Download PDF and print the PDF.
- Or print from Google Photos, one photo per page.
We tested this in Chrome 133 on Android 16: the button opened Chrome's print screen with 4 photos on one page, and Save as PDF saved it to Downloads. Check the preview in the print screen before you tap the print button: the paper size and orientation there must match what you chose above.
Paper, Letter or A4, and "fit" versus "fill"
- Match the paper twice: in the tool, and in Paper size on the print screen. Letter is the US and Canada size; A4 is used almost everywhere else.
- Orientation: Portrait for 4 per page, Landscape for 2 per page. Chrome may not switch it for you.
- Fit, not fill: each photo fits inside its square cell without cropping, so a wide photo leaves white above and below, and a tall one at the sides. Nothing is cut off.
| Layout | Square cell | A 4:3 phone photo prints at |
|---|---|---|
| US Letter, 4 per page | 3.6 in | 3.6 × 2.7 in |
| US Letter, 2 per page | 4.9 in | 4.9 × 3.7 in |
| A4, 4 per page | 90 mm | 90 × 68 mm |
| A4, 2 per page | 134 mm | 134 × 100 mm |
That's sharp enough for a school project, a form or a page for the fridge, not for a photo-lab print. For true 4×6 prints, load 4×6 photo paper and print from Google Photos one per sheet, or order prints.
Save as PDF and print elsewhere (a shop, a computer)
- Tap Print or save as PDF in the tool.
- At the top of the print screen, tap the printer name and choose Save as PDF.
- Tap the PDF button and save. The PDF holds the pages exactly as laid out, so a computer, a library or a print shop can print it at 100%.
If you need a grid of more than 2 across, or the file names in a PDF you can email, Contact Sheet does 2 to 8 across and downloads a PDF. To send photos as one PDF, one per page, see how to combine photos into one PDF. On an iPhone, the steps are different: print multiple photos on one page from an iPhone.
Questions
How do I print multiple pictures on one page on Android?
Android's own print screen has no photos-per-page setting, so lay the photos out first. The free tool on this page puts 2 or 4 photos on each page in Chrome, with no app and no upload; tap Print or save as PDF and pick your printer or Save as PDF. Some printer apps, such as Epson Smart Panel, also make collages.
How do I print 2 photos on one page on Samsung?
In the tool on this page, choose 2 per page, then in Chrome's print screen set Orientation to Landscape and print. That works on any Android phone with Chrome, Samsung included. We tested it on Android 16, not on a Samsung phone.
Can Google Photos print several photos on one page?
Not in our test. Google Photos 7.8.0 offered Print only for one photo at a time, from the photo's More options menu, and Android's print screen had no layout setting. With several photos selected, the menu had no Print at all.
